Soundbites

Friends Of Alan

A sound bite or soundbite is a short clip of speech or music extracted from a longer piece of audio, often used to promote or exemplify the full length piece.

Submit your soundbite

You are invited to create soundbites as a surprise for other friends during the festive season. Following our tradition of Elektronische Weihnachten we want to cultivate the Friends Of Alan soundbites method by running a series of events starting at Diwali, ElectroNicheXmas and Jamuary.

The first prompt is the following: Create and send in up to three sound bites that should not exceed 2-3 minutes in length before Sunday, Nov 27 5pm

There are two things to consider:

  1. Think about a month in 2022 or something you experienced that year and let the soundbite be inspired by whatever feelings come up. In the submission, please let us know the month name and as much about that inspiring event, adventure or epiphany as you want to share.

  2. There is a special twist: Make sure, the bites are presented as a surprise for another friend. Please include the name of a friend but not your own name or handle. You can add it to the filename or mp3 tag before sharing the sound bite. Upload it using the submission form. We will collect the bites and share them with Friends Of Alan later so the origin is obfuscated. This way sound bites can be created as a gift to friends without revealing your identity.

Here are some examples of soundbites created and shared with you by Friends Of Alan.

The first submission for the Alas! 101 ElectroNiche running as a coordinape circle in November 2021 together with the VCV-Patch used to create it. Take it and turn it into something beautiful.
